 「 Ellone Loire 」 Ellone is Squall's sister, the person who he once trusted to always be there for him. It is because of her leaving that Squall becomes so cold and anti-social in the first place.
Squall first meets Ellone at the Seaside orphanage, where the two of them grow to become very close. He, and all of the other children there, soon come to know her as "Sis". He relies very much on her and is devastated when she is sent away, unable to comprehend that it was necessary for her safety. The next time he sees her, around ten to twelve years later, he doesn't know who she is because the GF has caused him to forget. When he finally does find out that Ellone is his "sis", he's got too many other thing's on his mind to go chasing after her right away. More?

「 Laguna Loire 」 Laguna is Squall's father. Although the two of them don't meet in person until near the end of the game, Squall knows him from the dream world. He doesn't like his attitude very much, and fondly refers to him as a "moron". Laguna is away at the time of Squall's birth and remains oblivious to the existance of his son for basically the whole of Final Fantasy VIII.
「 Raine Leonhart Loire 」 Raine, Squall's mother, dies shortly after his birth, sending him to live at an orphanage. Squall has no memories of her.
