This is a shrine to the character Squall Leonhart of Final Fantasy VIII. As I've said elsewhere, VIII was the game that first got me hooked on the Final Fantasy series, it had amazing graphics for it's time, the storyline was great, and the characters were so well thought out. I couldn't get enough of it. But as much as I loved all that other stuff, Squall's personality stuck out to me the most. Immediately he became my favourite game character of all time, and so this Shrine is dedicated to his awesome-ness.

I had actually attempted a shrine to him once before called "I'll be your knight". It was pretty pathetic and discouraged me from shrine-making for quite a while. Eventually my writing skills improved and I made a shrine to Kairi of Kingdom Hearts. Before I was able to complete it, I stopped updating, adding new content, etc. Then it hit me. The reason I abandoned that Kairi shrine was because I lost interest. Kairi had been my favourite kingdom hearts character for a little over a month and I made a shrine to her, whereas Squall had been my favourite character ever for over 3 years and I hadn't even made a decent layout featuring him. It was then that I realized how very much I wanted to make a shrine to Squall, and so I did. The Kairi shrine is still up, just not as important to me as this one. It can be found here.

Hosting Info: Retrospect was uploaded to the web on Febuary 24th, 2004 as a folder on my hosted weblog wave.surreal-dreams.net. Shortly after that, Brandon agreed to host it at xhale.nu. Xhale.nu was closed down, and Retrospect found hosting at Aeroga.net on December 22 of 2004. Retrospect has been moved to my domain, Winhill.org
