「 Chapter 02 」 As one makes their way through life, it is important for them to gain favour with various other individuals. Whether it be a friend, a boss, or a potential father-in-law, there are many circumstances in which one must act with courtesy and kindness. Often this means helping another individual to accomplish something. Sometimes this means running an errand, sometimes it means saving their cat, sometimes it means saving their very life.Regardless of this need to be helpful, that person must also reserve time for his/herself. Otherwise they may grow weary, and unwilling to continue to do good for those around them. Everybody needs time for themselves, time to find themselves. If a person does not know who they are, how can they identify with the ones around them? Link is no different.
After being deemed as Hyrules legendary "Hero of Time", but being unable to appreciate all that came with it, Link realised a certain emptiness that had slowly crept upon him. He felt lonely and broken, like a part of him was missing. Which it was. Link was not one to make friends easily. He was not very talkative, and was often considered odd. He did not fit in with the kokiri because he was a Hylian without a fairy. He did not fit in with the Hylians because he had grown up as a Kokiri, made plainly obvious by his style of dress. He had lost his childhood friend Saria. He had lost his companion Navi. But he had accepted these things. Something else was missing. Link. Brave young adventurous Link. He was not one to let something go so easily, without so much as a fight, especially not one of his friends. Hence the reason for his journey to clocktown. His journey in search of that friend. Clocktown was not a very welcoming place. Upon entrance, Link was attacked. After taking his horse, and his musical instrument, his attacker turned him into a Deku Scrub. Through many trials and hardships, Link learned that it was that attacker whom he had been searching for. However, under the influence of a mysterious mask, that attacker did not recognize poor Link. Finally, Link came through, and saved his friend from a world of trouble. No longer was he lonely, nor broken, nor empty. Link had found his friend.
